One of my friends wrote me a story when I first
decided to move to Alaska. She called it “Annie of Alaska”. It was about all
the things I might see in AK and all the adventures I’ll have. It stuck with
me…and as a result it seemed to be the most appropriate name for my blog/photo
diary.
As I’ve been preparing over these last two months for this
big adventure, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how I can stay connected
with everyone. Two years ago I cut myself off of facebook, cold
turkey might I add, and I have become a much more productive person ever
since! Therefore, the thought of rejoining the time-sucking, mind mushing
“book”, grossed me out. Instead, after several recommendations, I came to the
conclusion that a blog would be the best option. This way all of you wonderful
people, who are 4 hours ahead of me, will be able to follow my life in
Anchorage and we will all stay connected!
As of now, I am 1 day away from departure! Tomorrow is moving day and I am currently living in a land of boxes, after an amazing bday weekend filled with all of the people who are so important to me! I can honestly say, this was one of the best birthdays I have ever had! It's been very hard to say goodbye to everyone--definitely the worst part of moving thousands of miles away-of course :(. Despite the sadness though, I am bubbling over with excitement and
anticipation for our adventure!
I'm not sure if I'll be able to post while on the road, but I will definitely post pictures ASAP once we're in Anchorage! First stop is Chicago, to spend the night with JB..then onward from there!
Love to you all!
